How do I go about selecting/ buying the players for my team?
You can select any player for your Fantasy squad of 11 from an extensive list of players of all the playing nations.
You will have 750 credits to begin with. The first step is to choose a team composition.
After you’ve selected a particular team composition, a play field with your selected composition opens on the screen. Now select players from the available players list and drag and drop them onto their positions on the playfield. Cost of each player is given alongside the names in the list of players – as you bring a player into your team, his cost automatically gets debited from your credit points.
Remember, the game is played on a weekly basis. So to score maximum points, make sure you select you team weekly.
I am trying to drag and drop players onto the field to create my team but the player doesn't stay?
The position where the player is being dropped might be wrong - the defenders can be put onto defender's positions only while strikers will stay only on the striker position and so on.
Can I change my team for every match?
No, you can't! As a team manager, you are allowed unlimited transfers, as long as you do not exceed the total credits available to you. However, you can change players only till one hour before the start of the first match on a Match Week.
When I make changes in the team – how long does it take for the change to process?
Your team is saved as soon as you click on Save Team button, however, you will not be able to make any changes to your team while a match Week is on.
Can I replace a player in my fantasy team in case the player is not playing for reasons like injury or any other unforeseen circumstances?

When I return some players, what happens to the scores earned by outgoing players?
Scores earned by players you return will stay in your cumulative score.
I bought a player for a certain amount on one day and when I am replacing him today, the amount being credited back to me is lesser than what I bought him for. Why is the player price different every time?
The player costing is ‘Dynamic’, which means the cost of the player changes with his performance in every match – he does well, the cost goes up and he doesn’t do well the cost goes down! When you return a player, his current price gets credited to your Credit pool and when you buy a player, his current price gets deducted from your Credit pool.
How much do I have to pay for making transfers?
You do not have to pay anything for making tansfers, however, the player prices are dynamic and may change every day based on their performance. On some days there are 2 matches on a single day. Can I change my team between two matches?
No, you cannot change your team in between two matches. You can change your team upto one hour before the start of first match on every Match Week.
What happens if I forget to update my squad ?
If you forget to update your team, the last team that you've saved will play for you.
I want to review my team's earlier performances.
To review how your team performed on any given Match Week, simply go to View My Team and select the Match Week. You will get to see both the formation you had selected on that Match Week as well as how your team performed.
How do I choose the best players for my team?
You can do that by going into the Player Statistics section. Simply select the Match Week for which you would like to see a player's performance and you will get the scores they earned on Fantasy Football. Also the top players will be listed on the Home
Page of this site.
I really enjoy the IFL but I cannot find a player's name in the list?
If you can’t find a player, then that player is not available in our Fantasy Database.
Can I compete with my friends / family / colleagues?
Yes – you and your friends can view each other teams and scores. All you need do is get your friends/ family/ colleagues to register and create a team. IFF has a unique feature where you can create a Private League that other can join. This way you, and all those who join your Private League, can compete and keep track of each other.
I don't know much about Football can I still play?
Of course you can, it's an extremely simple and fun to play the game! Please refer to the Demo and How to Play sections to learn more!
What is the duration of this game?
Fantasy Football English Premier League 2008 is played from 16 August 2008 to 24 May 2009 in sync international matches being played between footballing giants.
Can I change my Team Name?
No, you will not be able to change your Team Name as that is also your login name. However you can create as many teams you want.
Can I update my Team information?
You can update your team's slogan, description and image, however, you will not be able to change your team name as that's your Login name as well.
Can I change my Username?
No, you will not be able to change your Username. However you can create as many teams you want.
I am sure I've got the right Username and password but I still can't log in.
I've forgotten my password, how do I get a new one?
If you have saved the email notification you received after you registered with us your username and password will be there. Else you can use the Forgot Password facility to recover your password or username which will then be emailed to you.
Is there any limit on the number of teams that I can create?
You can create as many teams as you want.
Why has my ID been deactivated?
Your ID would have been deactivated if some objectionable/abusive content was found on it.
I'm under 18 can I still play?
Yes, the game is open to all. If you/your parents would like to contact us beforehand to verify anything, please feel free to do so at support@football.indianfantasyleague.com.
Where can I see my team's rank?
Once you login, you will see your team's rank and other details on the View My Team page.
Can I view other users’ teams in the competition?
Sure! At any time, you can view the Top 100 Teams (on the Home Page) to see how they have accumulated their points and pick up tips for your own team. Alternatively, you can search for teams using “Search” on the same page. You can also create Private Leagues that your friends/ family/ colleagues can join to compete against each other.
How can I see where my fantasy team's rank?
You can see the top 100 teams through a link on the Home Page. Alternatively, on your View My Team Page, the score and current rank of your team is always displayed.
How do I play the game?

I am facing difficulty in opening the site.Please do something as I have to select my team for today’s game?
Please enable cookies; check your bandwidth and that you are connected to Internet.
What is the last date for registration?
You can register anytime during the tournament. If you register after the start of the tournament, for every match in a week that you missed in a week, you get will get average score earned by the playing teams in that particular match.
How will you inform me if I win a prize?
We will contact you at the email id you provided to us while registering. If you win, our team will get in touch with you with details of the prize. So make sure you use a valid email id and check it regularly for updates.
When will the prizes be distributed?
The prizes will be distributed at the end of the tournament.
Can a person win more than a prize?
Team Managers are eligible to win only one prize for the complete game. In case the winner of a prize is also adjudged the winner of another one, he/she will be awarded the prize of higher value, while the other prize will be awarded to the next eligible winner.
I have won a prize in one Phase of the game, am I eligible for the next Phase prizes also?
You can definitely compete in the next Phase as this is one whole competition but unfortunately the rules allow for one prize per team so if you win another prize, you will get only one prize but you'll surely get the bigger one of the two that you've won.
I am in another country, other than the country where the prizes are to be distributed; will I get my prize in my country?
No. IFF can deliver prizes only in India at the moment.
Are there any monetary prizes in your Fantasy Game?
No, there are no monetary prizes in this game.
Do I have to pay to play the game?
No, not a single penny, the game is completely FREE.
Can I create more than one team/account?
As many as you would like and can manage – but you have to give a unique name to each team and to manage each you will be required to log in separately each time.
Can I create more than one team with the same email id?
You can create as many teams as you want with a single email id, however, you will have to register each team separately, and each team will have a different team name.
Can I link and see all my teams on a single log in?
No, you cannot link and/or see all your teams on a single log in.
In order to register a new team, can I do so with one single email account and password or I need to have different email Ids and passwords for each new team I wish to register? Please guide.
You can use the same email id to create multiple teams, however, each team must have a different Team Name - which will also be your login name.
I did not get any confirmation email after I signed up?
There could be various reasons for your not receiving the Welcome mail including a) it could have got stuck in Spam b) you did not enter a correct email address. Irrespective, please try to login with your Team Name and password. If you can login successfully, it would mean your team has been created.
What is the scoring formula used?
The players you select will earn points for you based on the standard score calculating system developed for Fantasy Football English Premier League 2008. Please see the How to Play link on the home page for details.
When will the scores be updated?
Scores will be updated at end of each Match Week within a short while from completion of the week's play.
The scores have not been added to my account from last week's match?
Scores are updated at the end of each Match Week. You will be able to see your scores updated the next weeks.
